1st Event in the “quiet capsule” and interviews with ten stakeholders from different cultural background

Choice of place for the intervention

In my search for resources that CSM could provide, I found that what our school's "Quite Capsule" was trying to achieve matched my project and that the concept of my project was an updated virtual version of the school's Quite Capsule.

So I chose this place as the address for my intervention.

Highlight Record

The person who inspired me most in this interview was a girl from Iran who told me that she comes to the 'Quiet Capsule' three times a day for prayer because it is prescribed in their religion and it has now become a habit and a way of life.

Talking about the anxiety and low mood of common emotion——"EMO", which is popular emotion among in general Gen Z.

She told me she also will feel sad but whenever she feels sad, she goes to a quiet place for prayer and self-meditation, which she thinks helps her mood a lot, and that even their generation has new digital means of praying, they have an APP that plays the Quran.

When I talk about the fact that in today's world, most young people do not have this religious belief and daily habit of quiet meditation and reflection like her, does she think that my approach can help others have a way to work through their emotional issues like she did?

She says she thinks it's really a way, she doesn't know about other people, but it's a way that has helped her own mental health.

When I asked if I would find my deconstruction of religion offensive to her religious beliefs?

She laughed and then told me that the fact that she was at Central Saint Martins showed the extent to which she was tolerant of cultural diversity! She thinks believing in yourself is certainly the best option for people who don't have a religion!
